Fairbanks is the shop dog at Black Parrot, a women's boutique in the Old Port of Portland, Maine. He came to Maine from death row in Alabama, where he was a stray in a kill shelter. (Just a week away from being put down.)
He was saved by the Golden Retriever Rescue Lifeline and was about nine months old when he arrived, skinny (but smiling) on a truck with other rescue dogs. It was love at first sight.
Today he lives the good life in Buxton, but can't wait each day to see his friends through Black Parrot's display window.
